Classification Summary

Assist the high school Band Director and Color Guard instructor by coordinating activities and assisting with performances and competitions, both as part of the marching band and as an independent unit.

Essential Duties

Collaborate with staff to develop visual programs including flag, uniform, and prop design.

Attend rehearsals and performances, instruct members in dance, flag, and rifle techniques.

Assist with choreography and routines for various performances.

Create rehearsal schedules and assist with recruiting members.

Ensure proper equipment is available and maintained.

Participate in program planning, band camp, and winter camp.

Manage the transition of the color guard to an independent competition unit.

Communicate with parents and organize support efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the band and guard activities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; higher education preferred.
Experience with guard subgroups and routines.
Experience with school-aged students and marching band auxiliary performance.

Licensing/Certifications

Valid Level I Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).

Knowledge & Skills

Auxiliary performance, routine choreography, working with students, collaboration.

Physical & Working Conditions

Position involves physical activity, outdoor and indoor work, exposure to noise, and extreme weather conditions.
