Electrical Project Engineer
Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with 2-5 years of electrical experience in commercial construction. The role will work on projects within our core markets:
Healthcare, Higher Education, Advanced Technology, Life Sciences, and Commercial. This position is located in Surprise, AZ.
- Providing construction support for electrical systems.
- Participation and application of EIG’s Environmental Health and Safety Plan, including weekly safety audits.
- Understanding and enforcing contracts between EIG, subcontractors, and DPR.
- Assisting the Superintendent and Project Manager in implementing EIG’s policies and executing the project.
- Organizing the duties of project staff such as other engineers, field office coordinator, and project accountant, providing direction and prioritization.
- Participating in trainings and company meetings for growth.
- Organizing and electronically archiving project files for easy access by the team.
- Preparation, monitoring, and updating project schedules; working with the Superintendent to reduce constraints’ impact.
- Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of document control logs (daily reports, material procurement, submittals, as‑builts, testing, inspections, RFIs, change orders).
- Coordinating and resolving project issues within the team (interface with designers, engineers, owners).
- Detailed knowledge of assigned project scopes with a hands‑on approach.
- Distribution of drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFIs, and other project information to all affected parties.
- Preparing agendas, minutes, and actions for various meetings (Owner/Architect/Contractor, subcontractor coordination, safety, staff).
- Monitoring testing and inspection records, safety logs, permit inspections, and sign‑offs.
- Grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts.
- Excellent listening and strong communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Organized work approach with adaptability to support changing project needs.
- Desire to seek out and resolve construction problems/conflicts during design and construction phases.
- Effective participation in a team environment.
- Proficient computer skills:
Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC, Prolog, Primavera), and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks). - A strong work ethic, "can‑do" attitude, and passion for construction.
- 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within EIG’s core markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Travel to and from the office and assigned job site(s).
