Position: Clinical Registered Dietitian I

Position Summary

The Clinical Registered Dietitian I will assess nutritional status and develop evidence‑based nutrition care plans for patients across the lifespan with conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and weight management. The dietitian will collaborate with a multidisciplinary integrated care team—including behavioral health consultants, registered nurses, care coordinators, medical assistants, and primary care providers—to establish SMART goals, schedule follow‑up appointments, and support Adelante’s team‑based primary care medical home model of care.

Responsibilities
  • Use the Nutrition Care Process to conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and document nutrition care plans in the electronic health record.
  • Communicate and coordinate patient information among the care team to maintain consistent care plans.
  • Educate patients on nutrition‑related medications, dietary supplements, and drug‑nutrient interactions.
  • Develop, write, and review written patient education materials and guidelines in accordance with local standards of care.
  • Educate interdisciplinary staff on dietetic nutrition education guidelines.
  • Refer to appropriate interprofessional team members, resources, or programs as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance in accordance with federal guidelines.
  • Provide telehealth education via landline, Jabber soft phone, Zoom, or personal mobile device.
  • Attend trainings and conferences for continued professional development.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Dietetics or nutrition‑related degree preferred (required for new graduates);
    Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or nutrition‑related degree required.
  • New graduate to two (2) years’ experience in community or clinical nutrition education programs or completion of a dietetic internship with RD/RDN credentials.
  • Current credentials as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Health Care Professionals (CPR) and AED.
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations.
  • Documented excellence in customer service and ability to interact with employees and clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrated competency in nutrition education methods and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related program‑specific applications.
  • Competency in working with diverse cultures.
  • Experience with motivational interviewing.
  • Evidence of valid Arizona driver’s license and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Prioritization and multitasking skills are required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Travel to multiple locations may be requested.
Location and Compensation

Peoria, AZ – $58,000.00 to $60,000.00 (per year).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The job requires sitting for long periods, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching, balancing, climbing steps, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may lift or move up to 25 pounds without assistance and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. Exposure to weather conditions when traveling to various clinic sites and a moderate noise level in the work environment are expected.

The employee may be exposed to health hazards such as contagious diseases and blood‑borne pathogens in the clinic area.
