Join a team that ensures safe, reliable water services for our community. In this role, you’ll operate and maintain water plants, reservoirs, and related systems. You’ll play a critical part in monitoring chemical processes, inspecting equipment, and using telemetry systems to maintain compliance with County, State, and EPA standards. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor and contributes directly to the health and sustainability of our water systems.

What

you’d be responsible for
  • Provide daily operational support to ensure water production systems run efficiently, reliably, and meet all requirements
  • Coordinate and perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including booster pumps, motors, and process control systems
  • Conduct quality checks to confirm all water production, chlorination, and process control systems are functioning properly
  • Collect samples and perform water testing to ensure compliance and quality standards
  • Calculate chemical dosing requirements and adjust feed rates and pump settings as needed
  • Monitor chemical inventory and request replenishment to maintain adequate supply
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust plant process equipment, including pumps and chemical systems, for optimal performance
  • Collaborate with contractors, developers, customers, and team members across the organization with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
  • Maintain clean, organized facilities and uphold all safety standards
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and operational goals
What’s required to be successful
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of on the job or equivalent experience
  • Grade 4 certifications in appropriate areas for Surface Water Treatment
  • Valid AZ Driver's license
  • Knowledge of water treatment operations and related safety practices
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in treatment facilities
  • Ability to operate light, medium, and specialty utility repair equipment
  • Willingness to work rotating schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Strong math skills for accurate calculations
  • Ability to perform standardized water analyses and understand drinking water regulations
  • Skill in reading and interpreting meters, charts, gauges, and recording devices.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Physical ability to move objects up to 100 lbs., lift, bend, climb stairs, and work with mechanical tools
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat
