About This Role:
Join our veterinary hospital as a Veterinary Assistant and become an integral part of our animal healthcare team! In this hands‑on role, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and technicians to provide compassionate care for our patients while gaining valuable experience in veterinary medicine. As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be involved in all aspects of patient care—from assisting with examinations and treatments to monitoring hospitalized pets and educating clients.

What Success Looks Like:
- Compassionate Care Provider:
You’ll handle and restrain animals with confidence and gentleness, ensuring their comfort during examinations and procedures while providing reassurance to pets experiencing stress or illness. - Medical Support Expert:
You’ll assist our veterinary team with treatments, diagnostics, and surgeries, preparing equipment, monitoring patients, and maintaining accurate records of care provided. - Hospital Caretaker:
You’ll maintain the cleanliness and organization of our hospital, ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for our patients, clients, and team members. - Communication Liaison:
You’ll relay important patient updates to veterinarians and fellow team members, helping maintain continuity of care and ensuring all staff are well-informed about patients’ status. - Client Educator:
Under veterinarian guidance, you’ll communicate with pet owners about their animals’ care, medications, and home treatment plans, providing clear instructions with empathy and professionalism.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician with current state certification
- Exceptional animal handling skills with the ability to work safely with pets of all temperaments
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medical procedures, laboratory techniques, and pharmaceutical calculations
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring, dental cleanings, and radiography
- Excellent communication skills with both team members and clients
- Detail-oriented approach to patient care and medical record-keeping
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting patients
- Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to quality care
- Adaptability and willingness to assist in various hospital areas as needed
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in veterinary environment, including intern assignment position
