Veterinary Assistant - Surprise Animal Hospital

We’re hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our growing animal hospital.

Salary: $17 - $21.50 / hour

• Assist the doctor with medical procedures, under their direct supervision, helping create positive, lasting impressions with clients and their pets.
• Provide written and verbal communication to clients regarding their pet’s care, answering questions, educating on treatments, and gaining consent for treatment plans.
• Deliver WOW customer service to clients and their pets.
• Manage medical records through practice management software.
• Dispense medication, perform x-rays, blood draws, place catheters, obtain samples, provide treatments, run diagnostic equipment, administer vaccines, and provide animal restraint when necessary.
• Set‑up, break down, clean, and maintain medical equipment.
• Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.

• Comfortable interacting with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly friends with calm and compassion.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Certified veterinary technician (preferred).
• Associate degree in veterinary assisting (preferred).
