SUMMARY

Assist in providing for the security and protection of all students, staff and property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the general security of all District facilities. Work hours may vary with adjustment made to benefit the district.
  • Monitors and reports unauthorized personnel on district property
  • Monitors any open doors and including school buses, windows and gates and secures them
  • Monitor for lights, heat and/or air conditioning units that may have been left operating and take appropriate action
  • Inspects cafeteria freezers to ensure adequate operation
  • Maintains a close rapport with local police authorities
  • Reports any break-ins, vandalism, etc. to local police authorities and appropriate principal or department head
  • Completes required paperwork such as daily security log, offense reports, etc. and submits to appropriate personnel
  • Reports to supervisor any abuse, misuse, or unauthorized use of school property observed during security checks
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
LICENSING
  • Obtain and maintain a valid

    Arizona Class D License.
  • Submit to annual and random, Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Acceptable driving record for the last (3) three years.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (
    IVP
    ) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
KNOWLEDGE OF

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work
:
Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions

Work is routinely performed in an indoor office and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
