Staff Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Full-time Staff Accountant with minimum of 2 years of public practice experience in preparing year end files, and personal tax returns.

The candidate must be well organized, efficient, and have the ability to multitask and manage client filing deadlines. The candidate must be able to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial principles.

• Bookkeeping using Quickbooks, Sage 50 and Caseware
• Full cycle accounting, Reconciliations of bank and leger accounts
• Preparation of Compilation Engagements
• Prepare and filing GST/HST, PST, WCB returns
• Preparation of corporate tax returns, and personal income tax returns.
• Review of client bookkeeping and account reconciliations.
• Payroll
• Preparation of T4's and T5's.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role
• 2 years of experience in public practice accounting
• Knowledge of Caseware, Profile, Sage and Quick Books.
• General understanding of accounting and taxation for small to medium sized businesses.
