The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of multiple commercial construction projects from start-up through closeout.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit monthly progress draws
, coordinating the full billing processManage project accounts receivable and payable
, including receipt tracking and payment coordinationReview and code project costs to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingReview and process subcontractor billings
, ensuring compliance with contract requirementsMaintain and manage trade partner compliance documentationCommunicate regularly with Project Managers, subtrades, suppliers, and internal teamsPrepare monthly project cost reports
, budget reconciliations, and variance analysisAssist with project cost and revenue forecastingSupport substantial completion and project close-out activitiesRequired Qualifications
5+ years of project accounting experience in commercial constructionStrong working knowledge of construction accounting principles and the Builders Lien ActProcore experience is required (must-have)High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and competing prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPost-secondary education in accounting or finance would be an assetExperience with Acumatica would be an assetThe Kind of Person You Are
