SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTING OUTCOMES
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to paymentHandle all Accounts Payable mail by sorting, responding to, reviewing and distributing accordinglyCode and submit invoices appropriately into systemUpdate tracker with invoice information including, but not limited to, invoice numbers, invoice date, name ofvendor, date received and descriptionsProvide updates to internal business units via the invoice trackerComplete check runs on a weekly basisClose month-end, complete month-end checklists and provide status updates to internal stakeholdersReview Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) cheques to ensure all vendors are paid accordinglyResponds to all vendor inquires in a timely mannerPerform other duties as requested, directed or assignedAssist internal business units with queries in regards to Accounts PayableEnsure Purchase orders are accurate and received in system for processingTroubleshoot issues that arise and resolve accordinglyFollow-up on approvals on invoices to processIdentify and handle any price discrepanciesAssist with internal traffic violation process, forward for approval and process accordinglyReview and approve Concur expensesRoutes invoices on hold for resolution and aid Procurement where neededComplete filing of documentation as necessaryProvide backup support to Finance team members and other business units when and if necessaryEnhancing Organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests and exploringopportunities to add value to job accomplishmentAdhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFLProvides accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the Account Payable functionQUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years of work experience in Accounts PayableProficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and AccessIn-depth understanding financial accountingKnowledge and Experience
High School diplomaAccounting Degree and/or College Diploma preferred.Previous work experience in Accounts Payable preferredSkills and Abilities

Normal Office EnvironmentWork Hours
General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional longer hours during month-end close.
