Financial Accountant at Métis Nation BC

Elevate your accounting career as a Financial Accountant with Métis Nation British Columbia, located in Surrey, BC. This hybrid full-time position integrates budgeting and financial reporting responsibilities.

In this role, you will assist in the preparation of budgets and financial statements for MNBC’s ministries. Your contributions will include monitoring expenditures, preparing ad hoc financial reports, and ensuring compliance with policies. A strong understanding of accounting systems will allow you to support stakeholders and facilitate effective financial operations while preparing for year-end audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and coordinating budgets for departments

• Prepare financial statements and reports regularly

• Analyze budget variances and funding agreements

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers

• Support users with reporting systems and financial policies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or related field

• Minimum of four years of progressive experience in finance

• Must be eligible for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Experience with audit processes is preferred
