Our growing CPA firm in South Surrey, BC is looking for a full time Intermediate/senior Accountant. The firm provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to a variety of businesses and personal clients predominantly in the South Surrey and Fraser Valley area. Our firm?s philosophy is to serve our clients in the manner which we would want to be served. We like to get to know our clients, their companies and their accounting and taxation needs, to educate and help them understand what a professional accountant can do for them while maintaining that personal relationship.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional who excels in a team environment, demonstrates strong technical proficiency, and communicates effectively with clients and colleagues. This is a hands on position where you would be responsible for completing client engagements, compilations, tax returns, and overseeing bookkeeping. You would be assisting in the planning and execution of compilation, review, tax and consulting assignments across a diverse client base.

This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuing growth of our firm.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include supporting the firm, its partners and other staff by:

  • Preparing compilation engagements and related financial information using Caseware, Tax Cycle and other industry software
  • Preparing corporate, individual and trust income tax returns, including related compliance filing such as PST, GST, WCB and T slips
  • Reviewing monthly bookkeeping engagements for accuracy and completeness
  • Assisting managers and partners with review engagements
  • Leveraging accounting and tax software to improve efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of the firm
  • Supporting the implementation of tax planning strategies for corporate, individual and trust clients
  • Delivering exceptional client service by providing high-quality, timely and responsive support
Requirements

You have:

  • A CPA designation with 3-5 years of post-designation experience with a public accounting firm in assurance and tax
  • Strong accounting (ASPE, ASNPO) and tax technical knowledge (corporate, personal and trust)
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to research and present tax information to support a client’s situation
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Case Ware, Jazz It, Tax Cycle (or similar tax software) and Quick Books
  • The ability perform effectively under pressure and priorities effectively
  • A passion for continuous learning, professional growth and positive relationships with clients and fellow staff
  • Excellent written and spoken English and are a permanent resident or Canadian citizen and legally able to work in Canada permanently
Salary and Compensation

Salary:
Equivalent of $75-95,000 annually, paid on an hourly basis, commensurate with skill set and experience.

Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year.
