Funding Manager Job Surrey area,BC Canada,Accounting

We are looking for an experienced Funding Manager to support a local government organization in British Columbia. This contract opportunity is responsible for centralizing contract and funding documentation, maintaining accurate records, reconciling agreements to financial activity, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external funders to resolve outstanding items and strengthen long-term tracking processes.

Responsibilities:

Support funding operations by maintaining contracts, coding, and department-level tracking across a high-volume, multi-department environment.

Develop, organize, and maintain centralized systems for tracking contracts, funding agreements, revenue activity, and related accounting documentation.

Review existing sources, including SharePoint, databases, email correspondence, and historical files, to identify and organize agreement information when records are incomplete or decentralized.

Research missing contract and funding details and coordinate with internal managers, departments, and external funders to obtain agreements, supporting documents, and key information.

Oversee high-volume agreement activity, including backlog cleanup, setup of new agreements, monitoring expirations, and following up on outstanding items with managers and directors.

Collaborate with internal teams to reconcile funding agreements with accounting entries, deposits, expenditures, and asset-related activity to ensure accurate and complete financial records.

Assist in resolving overdue reporting requirements and outstanding funder matters through follow-up, documentation, and direct communication with external funding organizations.

Manage revenue accounting for multiple departments and funding agreements, including invoicing, transaction processing, coding, and revenue recognition.

Drive improvements in document management, recordkeeping, and tracking processes to strengthen compliance, reporting accuracy, and visibility into funding activity.

Continue efforts to retrieve missing funding agreements and supporting documentation, further centralize grant and funding records, reconcile agreements to accounting activity, and improve follow-up and tracking processes for more efficient future operations.
