Assistant Controller Inventory Accounting

Inventory accounting expertise anchors this Assistant Controller role supporting multiple entities, financial reporting, month-end close, and operational accounting processes. Hands-on experience is central.

This Assistant Controller supports the Controller across day-to-day accounting operations. The work emphasizes inventory valuation, costing, reconciliations, write-downs, reporting, and compliance. The environment is product-based, manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution-focused.

• Manage inventory valuation, costing, reconciliations, and write-downs
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Complete journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Manage landed cost allocations and vendor accounting
• Improve inventory controls, workflows, and reporting accuracy

• Three-plus years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on inventory accounting experience in inventory-intensive environments
• Understanding of IFRS and ASPE financial reporting standards
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• ERP experience;
  Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
