About The JobThe CRA is committed to a barrier‑free, inclusive work environment. This staffing process will fill full‑time clerk, agent, and officer positions at the Surrey National Verification and Collections Centre. Positions are temporary contracts of 6‑12 months, with possibility of extensions. All work is on‑site; remote work is not permitted.
Responsibilities- Administer and collect outstanding amounts for all account types.
- Enforce compliance relating to information slips and outstanding returns.
- Communicate with taxpayers in writing, by phone, and in a call‑centre environment.
- Examine and correct tax and information returns.
- Validate and review income, benefit eligibility, deductions, and/or refunds.
- Provide general administrative and clerical assistance.
- Enter data into computer systems such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel.
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming/outgoing paper and electronic correspondence.
- Secondary school diploma.
- No experience required; training will be provided.
- English essential; bilingual imperative required for certain positions.
- Client service orientation.
- Effective verbal communication in English.
- Judgment and dependability.
- Second language evaluation for bilingual roles.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Organizational fit.
- Relevant qualifications and experience.
- Additional education or training (introductory accounting for some SP‑04 positions).
- Availability throughout appointment.
- Program continuity, budgetary considerations, duration of appointment, start date.
- Minimize business disruption, employment equity.
- Reliability status.
- Complete classroom and on‑the‑job training.
- Physically work in the office when required.
