It carries on business in three segments: metals service centers, energy field stores and steel distributors. Its network of metals service centers carries an extensive line of metal products in a wide range of sizes, shapes and specifications, including carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous specialty metals. Its energy field stores carry a specialized product line focused on the needs of energy industry customers.

Its steel distributors operations act as master distributors selling steel in large volumes to other steel service centers and large equipment manufacturers mainly on an "as is" basis.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented individual for the position of Administration Assistant (6-month contract) within our Surrey, BC branch. This is a full-time, permanent position that reports directly to the Administration Manager.

This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Entry of inventory adjustments as required
  • Mill test report entry and retrieval.
  • System receiving of material as required
  • Reviewing and finalizing material processing forms
  • Invoicing
  • Processing MRA’s to credit customers
  • Continually upgrade skills within administration to ensure department’s goals and measurables are being met.
  • Provide back-up and support to co-workers when required.
  • Completion of administration related projects and tasks assigned by the Administration Manager and Regional Controller as requested.

Education and

Skills Required:

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Strong attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and flexibility in a fast-changing work environment
  • A team-first mindset and strong customer service orientation
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)
  • Post-secondary vocational course in business or office admin is an asset

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
