Jim Pattison Volkswagen Surrey is looking for a skilled Red Seal Automotive Service Technician to join our Service team. If you enjoy solving complex mechanical issues, take pride in quality workmanship, and want to work in a modern dealership environment, we'd like to hear from you.

As an integral member of our Service Department, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain Volkswagen vehicles while helping deliver an outstanding ownership experience for every customer.

• Full-time, permanent
• 40 hours per week
• Saturday rotation required
• Flat rate: $38.00-$44.00 per hour
  , based on certification, experience, and skill level
• Reports to the Service Manager

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using manufacturer-approved procedures.
• Complete repairs and scheduled maintenance to Volkswagen and customer vehicles.
• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
• Recommend required repairs and maintenance through detailed inspection reports.
• Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate repair progress, timelines, and additional recommendations.
• Carry out road tests and pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles meet dealership quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Parts Department to obtain required components and assist with warranty procedures.
• Support fellow technicians to help maintain an efficient and productive shop.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety standards.
• Follow all dealership policies while maintaining confidentiality of customer and company information.
• Contribute to a respectful, collaborative, and team-oriented workplace.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

• Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification, or is currently eligible and actively working toward obtaining it.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Service Technician.
• A valid BC Driver's Licence with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
• Experience driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic abilities and effective troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
• A dependable work ethic and professional attitude.
• The ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced service department.

Physical & Working Conditions

This position involves working in an active automotive repair facility and requires the ability to:

• Stand and move throughout the workday.
• Lift up to 60 lbs on a regular basis.
• Perform tasks requiring mobility, manual dexterity, and physical endurance.
• Work around vehicle lifts, moving vehicles, shop equipment, and power tools.
• Work in an environment with engine noise, vehicle exhaust, dust, and automotive fluids.
• Adapt to seasonal temperature changes within the shop environment.
