Nanny

The Job
A full time House Manager and Nanny for a busy professional and sports-driven family of 5. The kids are currently attending full-time childcare at local daycare centers. Therefore, this position is expected to be 70% House Manager duties, and 30% Childcare. This is not a house cleaner position, but light cleaning and tidying is required to upkeep the home between bi-weekly detailed cleanings.

Our Family
Mom & Dad:
Professional couple working full time in hybrid work environments. Dad works out of the house 4 days a week, and Mom works 60/40 from home and in the office. We try to flex our work schedules around the kids’ sports activities, so we do a lot of running around! Outside of the kids sports, we love food, and the outdoors.

Big Brother: 8 years old. Loves sports, especially hockey. He is a high energy extrovert with an inquisitive mind. In addition to hockey 4 days a week, he loves soccer and rugby. His favourite subject in school is science.

Middle Sister: 5 years old. Loves creativity, story books, and the arts. Her favourite sport is soccer, and she plays hockey, soccer, and also does gymnastics and ballet. She loves school and her new friends.

Little Sister:  1.5 years old. She is high energy like her brother and is pretty easy-going. She loves to tag along with her siblings and copy everything that they do.

Daily Tasks

● Breakfast clean up:
oload dishwasher
owash handwash-only dishes
owipe down table, chairs and counters
osweep and spot-mop floors as necessary under dining room table
oput uneaten food away
oput away clean dishes from the night before
ounload dishwasher.

● Wipe stove as necessary

● Take out compost, change kitchen garbage and refundables / recycling.

● Laundry:
oWash, fold, and put away as necessary

● Tidy mud-room, put away jackets and coats

● Prepare kids’ school lunches for the next day

● Prepare and cook dinner for the family

● Toys put away (getting kids to help)

● Sweep staircase, main floor living room and main entryway.

● Pick up kids from school before after-school sports activities [the school is 2 blocks away from our home], get kids changed into sports uniforms and serve a snack.

● Fill waterbottles and prepare sports bags for sport activities for the day. For clarity, parents will take kids to their sports activities

Weekly Tasks

● Meal planning and grocery shopping

● Change out all towels (hand towels, bath towels, bath mats, and kitchen tea towels) and replace with clean ones around the house

● Take refundables, glass and plastics to recycle depot
●[every other week] Bed laundry: strip pillows, sheets and comforter covers, wash, dry and replace.
●[every other week] tidy before house cleaner arrives so that no items are on the floor where she may need to clean.

● Tidy outdoor deck area if needed.

● Manage household inventory and keep things restocked.

Monthly Tasks around the Home

● Refrigerator cleaned

● Organize kids’ toys (and maybe put aside a few for us to decide if we can donate)

● Organize clothing, and for kids put aside sizes that are no longer fitting.

● Organize and tidy as needed in the common areas of the home.

Occasional / as-needed
-Sick-day childcare coverage for when kids are unable to go to school in event of illness;
-School Pro-D day coverage as needed.

Requirements:
-First aid training and child care experience are an asset;
-This is a live-out position;
-Driver’s license is an asset;
-Organized, and detail oriented.

Hours
-37.5 hours per week, with opportunity for overtime if interested;
-Can be flexible with the range of hours as long as the hours cover our needs (ie. 8am-4pm; 9am-5pm; 10am-6pm, 11am-7pm, etc.)

Compensation
- Negotiable starting at $20 per hour
