The Restoration Foreman is a working supervisory role responsible for leading field crews on restoration and civil construction projects. This role serves as the on-site leader and primary representative of Forbes Bros. Ltd. during the construction phase of restoration work. The Foreman is accountable for directing day-to-day field activities, ensuring crews and subcontractors complete work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets.

This position is ideal for experienced tradespeople ready to transition into formal leadership while maintaining strong hands‑on involvement in masonry, concrete, and horizontal restoration scopes.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Daily Crew Leadership & Field Execution
  • Direct and assign daily work activities to crews based on project priorities and schedule requirements.
  • Ensure crews are properly equipped with tools, materials, and equipment to complete work efficiently.
  • Coordinate daily work plans to maintain productivity and minimize delays.
  • Provide clear direction to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
  • Support sequencing of restoration activities including masonry, concrete, waterproofing, and finishing scopes.
Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Lead daily tailboard meetings and ensure job hazard assessments are completed.
  • Enforce all site safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all times.
  • Address safety concerns promptly and escape issues when required.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all crew members and subcontractors.
  • Uphold a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies and work procedures.
Quality Assurance & Task Execution
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and company standards.
  • Oversee masonry restoration including tuck‑pointing, masonry replacement, sealants, flashing, and cleaning/sealing applications.
  • Oversee below‑grade waterproofing installation and restoration scope execution.
  • Identify and correct non‑conforming work and ensure timely resolution of deficiencies.
Planning, Productivity & Reporting
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign work based on project schedules and daily milestones.
  • Track crew productivity, material usage, and daily progress.
  • Maintain accurate daily reporting and communicate progress to the Project Manager.
  • Evaluate work methods to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Assist with scheduling coordination to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned crew and on‑site activities.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Project Manager regarding progress, challenges, and resource needs.
  • Train, mentor, and support employees in developing skills and improving performance.
  • Participate in site meetings and support coordination with subcontractors and other trades.
Materials, Tools & Site Support
  • Support material planning and procurement needs in coordination with Project Manager.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of materials and equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining organized, safe, and efficient work sites.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Technical Skills
  • Minimum 5+ years of construction experience (required), including at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in masonry and concrete forming from fabrication through finishing.
  • Strong background in masonry and horizontal restoration, including tuck‑pointing, masonry replacement, joint sealants, flashing, and restoration cleaning/sealing applications.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience in civil concrete construction, including the ability to:
  • Fabricate and erect forms for civil concrete construction
  • Set forms for curbs, sidewalks, and flatwork
  • Place and finish concrete
  • Perform miscellaneous concrete work and skilled labor tasks
  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials
  • Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces according to grade
  • Fill hollows and remove imperfections on freshly poured concrete
  • Level top surfaces to specified grade and depth
  • Apply desired finishes using hand and power tools
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged concrete structures
