Job Summary
Surrey Memorial Hospital has a part‑time Pediatrician position available. General or pediatricians with sub‑specialty may apply. The applicant will need to be involved in teaching medical students, family practice residents, and pediatric residents. Duties involve on‑call coverage for the Family Birthing Unit and inpatient pediatric patients, as well as seeing consults from the pediatric emergency department. The successful applicant is also expected to take part in the Pediatrician of the week (hospitalist) program.
FacilitySurrey Memorial Hospital is a 611‑bed acute care facility, University of BC‑affiliated, regional referral and community teaching hospital with the busiest emergency in BC. It offers medical, surgical, neonatal intensive care, tertiary, ambulatory, cardiology, rehab, and 24/7 emergency services with 158,558 visits annually. It manages over 5,000 births per year and recently opened a new tower with a 46‑bed maternity care unit, a 48‑bed Level 2/3 NICU, and a dedicated maternal operating room.
The new ER includes a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, a perinatal centre, helipad, and expanded ICU.
