Math & Chemistry Teacher- FTE at Fraser Valley School. Crescent Heights Academy is an independent day school located in Surrey, BC. With 630 students from K-12 in 2024, our population will grow to 700 students in the following years. Our aim is to provide students with an inclusive community, a challenging academic education with a focus on character, critical and compassionate thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Job overview:
Full-time High School Math and Chemistry Teacher, responsible for delivering engaging instruction aligned with the BC curriculum, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of mathematics and chemistry.

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in mathematics and chemistry for secondary students, utilizing effective instructional strategies
• Prepare assignments and projects to evaluate student performance
• Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment
• Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and personalized support
• Adapt lessons and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Integrate technology into the teaching of math and chemistry to enhance student learning
• Supervise and evaluate student work, including homework, tests and projects
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with educational regulations
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Head of School

• A Bachelor of Education with a focus on Mathematics, Chemistry or a related field
• A Master’s degree in Education, Science or a related field is an asset
• Hold a valid BC teaching certificate
• Previous teaching experience at the secondary level is considered an asset
• Familiarity with curriculum development and classroom technology integration is preferred
• Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada
• First Aid Certificate
