Indigenous Child and Youth Care Worker

This on-call position focuses on assisting Indigenous children and youth within a supportive framework. Key responsibilities involve collaborating with educators and guardians, ensuring students' social and emotional growth, and facilitating Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Working alongside teachers and administrative staff, you will foster a positive school environment where Indigenous students feel valued and engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

• Encourage classroom participation for individual students

• Assist with student integration into regular classroom settings

• Collaborate on behavior management strategies with teachers

• Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans

• Liaise with parents to promote positive school relationships

Requirements:

• Knowledge of behavioral issues in children and youth

• Two-year diploma in Child and Youth Care training

• Practical experience with Indigenous youth in care

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Understanding of Indigenous culture and history
