Join Métis Nation British Columbia as a Métis Cultural Specialist focused on Early Childhood Education. Collaborate with Capilano University to enhance Métis curricula and student resources.
The Cultural Specialist plays an essential role in developing and implementing Métis-focused educational resources for Early Childhood Educators. This position requires collaboration with faculty at Capilano University and aims to incorporate Michif language and Métis Core Values into curricula. You will also arrange Elder teachings and culturally relevant field trips while evaluating the inclusion of Métis content.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and revise Métis-focused curricula for Early Childhood Education
• Integrate Michif language and Core Values into lesson plans
• Coordinate Elder teachings and arrange field trips
• Evaluate and review Métis content with Capilano University Faculty
• Identify curricular gaps and recommend improvements
Requirements:
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education
• Minimum two years of experience in cultural program delivery
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
• Knowledge of Métis culture and practices
• Class 5 driver’s license may be required
