Position: Secondary School French Teacher Needed!

Khalsa Secondary School, located at Street, is seeking a Secondary School French Teacher. Our Sikh faith-based school is an IB MYP authorized World School and an AP Level 2 school. Teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

We have one opening for September 2025. North American teaching experience is recognized. The position is for a Full‑time, Fixed‑term contract for 10 months.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary of $6,400 per month. Additional pay is available for certified teachers teaching IB courses. Salary is only offered to teachers with a Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) or who have completed an application with the Teacher Certification Branch (BC). Teaching experience in Canada may qualify for a higher starting salary for CoQ teachers.

Duties
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • BC teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching related subjects.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles.
Skills
  • Proficient in proofreading educational materials.
  • Classroom management expertise.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus.
  • Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
