Support new international students at KPU as a Peer Mentor. Engage through online and in-person connections to enhance student success and integration into campus life.
KPU is looking for a Student Assistant to guide and mentor new students. This role involves weekly check-ins, facilitating social connections, and answering queries to ensure students feel supported in their first year. You will work on a caseload basis, connecting students with the resources they need for academic success and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
• Send weekly check-in emails to your assigned students
• Refer students to tutors, advisors, and support staff
• Host online office hours for student conversations
• Organize monthly social events to build community
• Report student issues to your supervisor promptly
Requirements:
• Minimum KPU GPA of 2.5 in good standing
• Completed at least 2 semesters and 18 credits at KPU
• Experience in student orientation preferred
• Background in volunteer roles for international students
• Availability for regular student interactions
