Join Simon Fraser University as a Library Technician focused on media equipment support for faculty, staff, and students at the Surrey campus. This part-time role involves borrowing facilitation, equipment demonstration, and minor repairs of library materials.
In this position, you'll assist in operating and maintaining library media equipment, ensuring efficient access to resources.
Your role will emphasize customer service, demonstrating equipment use, and maintaining a welcoming environment in the Fraser Library. You'll be actively engaged in supporting learning and teaching at SFU while operating various media tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support borrowing and use of library media equipment
• Diagnose problems and perform minor repairs
• Retrieve, circulate, and shelve library materials
• Demonstrate equipment setup for users
• Display excellent customer service and communication skills
Requirements:
• High school graduation and short-duration audio-visual training
• 6 months of relevant experience
• Ability to operate diverse media equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
Support the SFU community by providing excellent media equipment service and enhancing the user experience at Fraser Library.
