Overview:
Regent Christian Academy is seeking a passionate full-time Physical Education Teacher for Grades K–5. RCA is a well-established interdenominational Christian school serving over 725 students across two campuses, alongside a thriving athletics program and competitive performing arts stream. The K–Grade 5 PHE Teacher is responsible for fostering physical literacy, healthy living habits, and a love for active play in our elementary students.

Rooted in a Christ-centred worldview, this role goes beyond skill development to mentor young learners in sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, and honoring God with their bodies. The ideal candidate brings high energy, strong organizational skills, and a passionate commitment to guiding K–5 students in both their physical development and spiritual growth within a dynamic, collaborative campus setting.



Key Responsibilities &

Core Competencies:

  • Design and execute an engaging, age-appropriate K–5 Physical and Health Education program aligned with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum and RCA standards.
  • Teach fundamental movement skills, teamwork, spatial awareness, sportsmanship, and healthy living concepts tailored to primary and intermediate developmental stages.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum effectively to meet the diverse academic, physical, and social-emotional learning needs of all students.
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive gymnasium and outdoor environment for all students regardless of athletic skill level.
Spiritual Integration & Culture Building:
  • Integrate Biblical truths into daily PE classes, helping students see health, stewardship, and physical movement from God’s perspective.
  • Model Christ-like behavior, enthusiasm, and fair play, actively coaching students in self-discipline and positive conflict resolution on and off the court.
  • Contributes to school-wide wellness initiatives, athletic events, and elementary sports activities while actively implementing school initiatives and goals within classroom routines.
Planning, Assessment & Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a strong command of classroom management skills and strategies that promote an effective learning environment and uphold student dignity.
  • Develop clear learning outcomes, lesson plans, and fair assessment methods that track physical literacy and health awareness.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students facing physical, academic, or social-emotional difficulties.
  • Establish consistent, positive gymnasium routines and safety procedures for receiving students, managing equipment, and utilizing athletic spaces.
  • Maintain proactive, encouraging communication with parents regarding student engagement and progress.
