Education Assistant

Traditional Learning Academy Online is currently recruiting Educational Assistants (EAs) to support students in our individualized learning programs. This role offers the opportunity to work one-on-one or in small groups with students engaged in online and therapeutic centre-based learning environments. EAs are vital members of a collaborative team that includes children, families, and TLA school staff.

• Therapeutic Centre Environment:
  Assist students within the therapeutic centre on both IEP and curricular goals. This may also include: providing support for specialized needs including personal care (toileting), feeding, and lifting as requested by the IE Teacher.

• Online Support:
  Support students engaged in online learning by tutoring and facilitating engagement with individualized programs.

• Instructional Support:
  Modify and prepare specialized teaching materials, compile and update student records, and monitor student behavior.

• Collaboration:
  Work closely with TLA teachers and families to provide individualized support tailored to the student's goals.

• Qualifications
  
  Required:
  
  

• A certificate from a recognized post-secondary college (Special Education Teaching Assistant or equivalent).

• Proven background in supporting students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.

• Proficiency in computer tools including Gmail, Google Drive, and video conferencing.

• Strong written and oral English communication skills and a commitment to inclusive education.

• A valid Ministry of Justice criminal record check.
