KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide a caring, safe, and nurturing atmosphere within the classroom and throughout the school.
- Prepare and maintain an organized and inviting Montessori learning environment.
- Plan and present developmentally appropriate Montessori lessons and activities.
- Observe each child's interests, development, and individual learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records, including observations, lesson plans, and student progress.
- Guide children's behaviour respectfully and positively in accordance with Montessori principles.
- Encourage independence, confidence, responsibility, and respect for others.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, colleagues, and school administration.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and prepare written progress reports when required.
- Follow all Silver Ridge Montessori policies and provincial childcare licensing requirements.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and dedicated teaching team.
- Full British Columbia Early Childhood Educator certification.
- Montessori teaching diploma.
- AMI- or MACTE-recognized Montessori training.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clear criminal record check.
- Previous Montessori classroom experience is preferred.
- A genuine passion for Montessori education and child development.
- A warm, patient, respectful, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Strong classroom-management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Dependability, professionalism, and a high degree of personal integrity.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
