Transform education for students with hearing differences as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing with Surrey Schools. This role requires dedication to inclusion and effective teaching practices.
In this 1.0 FTE position, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting diverse learners. Surrey Schools values equity and welcomes educators passionate about fostering inclusive environments. Your work involves assessing student needs and collaborating with educational teams to provide customized instruction and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret and assess students' hearing differences
• Coordinate referrals for specialized assessments
• Facilitate curriculum-based instructional support
• Provide training and resources for teachers and assistants
• Consult with parents on student needs and progress
Requirements:
• Valid B.C. Teaching Certificate
• Master's degree or diploma in Deaf Education
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience
• Experience emphasizing inclusive practices
• Preferred fluency in American Sign Language
