Montessori Assistant or Co-Guide

The Maria Montessori School is looking to fill a long-term position for a passionate teacher with room for advancement. $24-38 per hour. 8:00am to 4:00pm, following the Surrey School District academic calendar.

The Maria Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten, established in 1991, is the quintessential one-room schoolhouse located in a park-like setting amid century evergreens and a Canadian Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat. We serve forty students, aged 2.5 to 6, between our two, half-day classes with an extended day Kindergarten program. We pride ourselves on the academic excellence and holistic growth that our students have achieved, and we have served multiple generations of families within our area.

We have, at times, had two fully qualified AMI Guides teaching in the classroom at once and seen the dramatic results for our students.

• A willingness to adapt and grow with our small team
• A unique perspective and life experience

• ECEA or ECE certification
• Strong spoken and written English skills
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
