Gas Controller

Position: Full-Time Gas Controller
Lead gas operations with FortisBC as a Gas Controller in Surrey, BC. This full-time role focuses on pipeline monitoring, ensuring optimal flow and customer service.

In this position, you will manage pipeline data for efficient operations and reliable customer service. You'll utilize a SCADA system to monitor pressures and flow rates, respond to alarms, and control pipeline systems. Coordination with management during emergencies and analysis for forecasting gas requirements are crucial aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor gas flow using SCADA and analyze alarms

• Control pipeline conditions via compressors and valves

• Forecast daily gas needs based on data analysis

• Produce reports for management and departments

• Liaise with field personnel and stakeholders

Requirements:

• Diploma in a relevant field or Red Seal Journeyman

• 5 years in Control Room or Pipeline Operations

• Proficient with SAP and MS Office applications

• Mechanical aptitude with gas process knowledge

• Strong communication skills and decision-making ability
