Role OverviewOur client, a regulated utility energy provider
, is seeking Engineering-focused QA Engineers to support the during the pre-construction and detailed design phase of our client's project.
These roles will provide Owner-side Quality Assurance for engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with utility standards, regulatory requirements, and construction readiness expectations well in advance of execution activities
.
While initial work may allow for some flexibility, candidates must be willing and able to transition to a regular on-site presence in the Surrey / Lower Mainland area as the project progresses toward construction.
Contract TimingRequired in 2025–2026 to support pre-construction, detailed design, and construction readiness activities, ahead of upcoming construction phases.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Quality Assurance oversight for engineering deliverables during pre-construction and design phases
- Review engineering documents, drawings, specifications, and technical packages for quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Ensure adherence to Owner standards
, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices - Support design quality, constructability, and readiness reviews
- Identify quality risks early and support corrective and preventive actions
- Interface with engineering consultants, project controls, and construction readiness teams
- Support QA processes, audits, and stage-gate readiness activities
- Maintain clear QA documentation, issue tracking, and reporting
- Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline)
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Engineering Quality roles within utilities, energy or major infrastructure projects
- Experience supporting projects in pre-construction and design phases
- Strong understanding of engineering quality standards, documentation control, and regulatory compliance
- Experience working in Owner, utility, or regulated project environments
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Preference for candidates based in Surrey / Lower Mainland, BC
- Hybrid work initially;
on-site presence will be required as projects move closer to construction - Candidates must be comfortable transitioning to site-based work
- Contract rate and final scope details to be confirmed
- Multiple QA Engineers may be required depending on project demand
