Job SummaryThe Junior Mechanical CAD Designer is trained in Mechanical design and works with Senior Mechanical Designers and Electrical Hardware Designers to fix existing Solid Works CAD files (3D & 2D) and upload them with the correct meta data to Solid Works PDM.
Duties and Responsibilities- Checking existing Solid Works CAD files
- Comparing the Solid Works CAD files with the as built products
- Revising the Solid Works CAD files if needed
- Fixing all Solid Works CAD files and adding the missing meta data
- Upload the fixed Solid Works CAD files to Solid Works PDM
- Investigations into modelling
- Performing measurements to assist in completion of design checking
- Maintenance of existing Mechanical designs and drawings
- Perform all work in accordance with established procedures and guidelines as described in the Product Development Process.
- Assist in research of new technology relevant to product directions.
- Assist in a technical analysis of proposed designs when requested.
- Assist in the generation of accurate Bill Of Materials for products and the different variations.
- Assist in the generation of conceptual 3D model designs
- Assist in the creation of detailed 3D model designs
- Generation of 2D control drawings
- Ensure all design and implementations are reviewed by the supervising senior hardware designers or QA hardware specialists.
- Assist in reviewing other mechanical designer’s work against requirements and quality standards.
- Assist in the production of preliminary product documentation to communicate designs to other hardware designers, firmware developers, QA hardware specialists and manufacturing.
- Two years Technology Diploma in mechanical engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical design
- Experience with Solid Works, Solid Works PDM, technical drawings, plastic and sheet metal design…
- Experience with manufacturing processes
- Good interpersonal communication skills

Full-time, Temporary (4 to 8 months) - Compensation: $23/hr - $26/hr
