Mechanical Draftsperson

GK Engineering & Design Ltd. is looking for an experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate should have 1–2+ years of drafting experience in mechanical building services and be confident working on residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, sprinkler, and related building systems.
• Work with engineers, designers, architects, and project teams to prepare permit and construction drawings.
• Review architectural and structural drawings for coordination.
• Prepare and revise drawings based on engineer comments, client feedback, and authority requirements.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, layers, schedules, notes, and project documentation.
• Assist with coordination between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building envelope disciplines.

Requirements:

• 1–2+ years of mechanical drafting experience.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD;
  Revit MEP experience is an asset.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, drainage, sprinkler, and mechanical room layouts.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Understanding of BC Building Code, plumbing code, and local permit submission requirements is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
