Electrical Designer for Switchgear at IEM

Join IEM as a skilled Electrical Designer focusing on switch gear solutions. Collaborate with engineers, develop design packages, and maintain documentation in a hands-on role at our facility.

As part of IEM's Switchgear Design team, the Electrical Designer will work directly under the guidance of Lead Engineers to create comprehensive electrical design packages for low and medium voltage switch gear. This role demands proficiency in CAD, particularly AutoCAD, and attention to detail to ensure compliance with standards. The successful candidate will thrive in a production-centric environment where collaboration is key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complete electrical design packages per specifications

• Assist with drawing updates, BOMs, and engineering transmittals

• Support CAD updates and schematic revisions on the shop floor

• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and part records

• Review existing part records for accuracy and updates

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field

• Experience with electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design tasks

• Knowledge of UL standards and NEC codes

• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
