Position: Gaming Character Rigger (210897 )

This is a hybrid role in Vancouver.

Pay Range: $58/hr - $63/hr

As a pivotal member of the team, you will significantly impact the artistic vision and technical foundation of their flagship titles by bringing characters to life through innovative rigging solutions, directly contributing to the immersive experiences enjoyed by players worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise directly to game assets that are vital for the team and for the game animation systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of character movement and expression, working closely with a talented group of artists and engineers to shape the future of interactive storytelling.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Rigging Lead to create rigged assets that conform to the technical guidelines of the target platform and engine.
  • Follow direction from the Rigging Lead, as well as seek feedback from peers and art leads when needed.
  • Troubleshoot rigged assets, fix content issues, and test on the target platform.
  • Participate in meetings as part of effective communication with the team.
  • Capably and consistently meet project deadlines and milestones set by project leads.
  • Document new rigging tools, techniques, and workflows as required.
  • Be a positive and creative force in the team.
Qualifications Must‑Have Skills
  • 3+ years as a professional rigger or equivalent experience.
  • AA/BFA preferred, or a portfolio demonstrating an industry‑standard level of rigging.
  • Proficient with Maya, with a high capacity to learn new tools and processes.
  • Strong human/animal anatomical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated clean and efficient smooth skinning practices.
  • Passion for the industry and an understanding of industry trends and technologies.
  • Have a proactive work ethic; capable problem solver who is not afraid of big challenges.
  • Prepared to learn in‑studio workflow and tools.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Experience with a leading game engine.
  • Python scripting knowledge.
  • Experience with a 3D animation software.
  • Knowledge of Cloth or simulation.
