Detailed OverviewReporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations, supports established diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular radiography procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization labs, Cardiac Procedure Room, and Electrophysiology labs under the direction of Physician/Cardiologists. Supervises other Cardiovascular Technologists who also perform that work. Serves as the clinical resource in collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator, overseeing the quality of technical work performed. In collaboration with the leadership team, coordinates the daily technical and staffing activities of assigned area, participates in recruitment, identifies and makes recommendations regarding staffing needs, participates in or makes hiring decisions, coaches and orientates team members.
Participates in the planning and coordination of the designated service, practice standards, goals and objectives in conjunction with designated management and other team members. In partnership with the PCC and CNE, coordinates practicum placements and orientation for cardiovascular technologists. Develops procedures and provides guidance to designated staff. The Supervisor also performs the same duties as Cardiovascular Technologists.
Participates as a department representative and clinical expert in meetings as required for the site, redevelopment, Cardiac Services BC (CSBC), and health authority, as directed by Manager, Clinical Operations.
