Our FYidoctors South Surrey – Sunnyside clinic is looking for an Advanced Vision Care Technician – Dry Eye Care Patient Services to fill an existing vacancy. The role involves working closely with a team of optometrists to deliver specialized treatments and support patients with dry eye, macular care, nutrition and low vision protocols in a dynamic environment that values teamwork and collaboration.
This is a fixed-term role until September 2027, working 30–40 hours per week; the clinic is open Tuesday‑Saturday.
- Perform diagnostic tests to assess ocular surface salt levels and detect signs of inflammation.
- Gather comprehensive patient histories and information related to dry eye symptoms and contributing factors.
- Educate patients on personalized at‑home treatment plans and provide clear instructions for effective management of dry eye conditions.
- Administer Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy using advanced Eye Light technology to treat dry eye symptoms.
- Support the optometrist with various treatments and diagnostics related to complex ocular conditions.
- Coach and support other team members on protocols related to dry eye treatment, macular care and specific low‑vision treatments.
- Support low‑vision treatment plans by executing exercises, diagnostics and treatment plans under the optometrist’s supervision.
- Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.
- Receive on‑site training.
- Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
