The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a comprehensive program that provides 2.2 million tests per annum in support of all RVH clinical programs and clinical trials. Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is an accredited service recognised by the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) and holds the ISO 15189 Accreditation Plus designation.
This posting is for a Core Laboratory Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) and includes rotation through Hematology, Chemistry, and Transfusion Medicine. The position is rotational and includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
Required Qualifications- Registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in the areas of responsibility.
- One (1) year of recent laboratory experience in related discipline(s).
- General knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.
- General knowledge of the theory and practices of applicable laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Participation in professional committees and networks.
- Meditech and Laboratory Information System (LIS) knowledge and experience.
- Experience with current instrumentation/automation in the respective area.
- Demonstrated ability to develop skills and knowledge in required areas of the laboratory.
