The KDFN Education and Social Development Department seeks an assistant passionate about aiding students from kindergarten to grade 12. You'll work under the guidance of a Speech and Language Pathologist, developing hands-on skills while preparing culturally relevant therapy materials. Ideal for those enrolled in or completing a diploma related to Speech and Language Pathology Assistant studies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individualized and group therapy sessions for students
• Develop culturally relevant materials for therapy activities
• Engage with families and educators to coordinate support
• Facilitate communication and language enhancement initiatives
• Foster community relationships through collaborative work
Requirements:
• Diploma in Speech and Language Pathology Assistant studies or equivalent
• Additional coursework in linguistics or child development preferred
• Experience in person-centered case management valued
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication tools
• Understanding of trauma-informed practices essential
