Position: Join Our Laboratory Assistant Team
Become a part-time Laboratory Assistant at Whitehorse General Hospital, contributing to the health services of the Yukon. Perform essential lab tasks such as blood sampling and patient analysis in a collaborative environment.

This regular part-time role, reporting to the Manager of Laboratory Services, requires interaction with Laboratory Technologists to manage various medical tests and specimen handling. Effective multitasking and attention to detail are crucial to succeed as you assist in delivering high-quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood and urine tests for inpatients and outpatients

• Carry out ECGs and pulmonary function tests accurately

• Prepare and send specimens for further laboratory analysis

• Maintain an organized and clean working environment

• Collaborate with health professionals and ensure confidentiality

Requirements:

• Medical Laboratory Assistant certification essential

• At least 30 wpm typing speed with low error rate

• Ability to perform phlebotomy on diverse patient demographics

• Familiarity with laboratory processes and technical testing

• Obtain CPR, TDG, and ECG interpretation certifications within 6 months
