Role Description

This part-time Medical Office Assistant role is an on-site position based in Surrey, BC. The Medical Office Assistant will greet patients, manage check-in and check-out processes, and respond to phone and in-person inquiries in a professional manner. Daily tasks include scheduling and confirming appointments, updating patient records, and coordinating with medical and pharmacy staff to support smooth clinic operations. The role also involves handling insurance and billing information, preparing basic documentation, and maintaining organized reception and administrative areas.

The Medical Office Assistant will contribute to a supportive, efficient environment that helps patients feel informed and cared for throughout their visit.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Phone Etiquette skills, including professional communication and effective call handling.
  • Candidates should possess Appointment Scheduling skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage patient bookings accurately.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to support clear communication with clinicians and accurate documentation.
  • Candidate should be familiar with Juno/Oscar EMR.
  • Candidates should possess Administrative Assistance skills, including basic clerical work, data entry, and record management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse patients and staff.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinic environment.
  • Previous experience in a medical office, or healthcare setting is an asset; relevant certification or training in medical office administration is preferred.
