Data Governance Leader

Position: Data Governance Leader at BC Ferries
Drive transformation at BC Ferries as a Lead Data Governance Specialist. Lead the evolution of data practices while collaborating with diverse teams to enhance decision-making and accountability.

In this pivotal role, you will mature and operationalize enterprise-wide data governance strategies within BC Ferries. Your expertise in data quality, metadata management, and compliance will facilitate sustainable practices that bridge business needs with data governance. You will work closely with domain owners, sector stakeholders, and the Data Governance Council to foster a data-driven culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and uphold policies for data quality and compliance

• Implement governance practices across various data domains

• Establish a Data Governance Centre of Excellence

• Drive partnership with business and tech stakeholders

• Champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields;
Master's preferred

• Over 7 years of hands-on data governance experience

• 5+ years leading enterprise governance frameworks

• Experience in public sector or large transformations

• Strong analytical and communication skills
