The Purchasing & Inventory Management Associate is responsible for inventory planning, purchasing, and pricing analysis to support customer demand and business objectives. Through data analysis and technology, this role optimizes inventory performance, supports strategic purchasing initiatives, maintains data integrity, and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and decision‑making.
Responsibilities- Manage inventory levels and purchasing for branch stock and customer orders, ensuring optimal inventory turns while meeting customer demand.
- Review stock‑out, replenishment, and inventory planning reports, including line points, order points, EOQs, and parameter maintenance.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, vendor communications, order confirmations, and EDI transactions.
- Monitor pricing, quotes, purchase price variances (PPVs), supersessions, and database integrity.
- Collaborate with vendors, Accounts Payable, branch teams, and other key stakeholders to resolve issues and support business needs.
- Support promotional buys, inventory rotations, and initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Manage customer‑owned inventory programs, including coordinating internal transfers, site setup, purchase order creation, material receipts, and collaboration with Sales to ensure accurate billing and inventory tracking.
- Conduct pricing analysis and support strategic purchasing decisions through data‑driven recommendations and market insight.
- Investigate inventory, purchasing, pricing, and system‑related issues, independently identifying root causes and driving resolutions through to completion.
- Leverage ERP, BI, and reporting tools to analyze inventory performance, purchasing trends, and operational metrics, partnering with the Business Intelligence team to support reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Navigate and adapt to evolving systems and technologies, identifying opportunities to improve processes, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.

- High school diploma required.
- Supply Chain certification, APICS, Operations or other related an asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Office required.
- 3–5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, or procurement.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to leverage business intelligence (BI) tools and collaborate with analytics teams to interpret data and drive decisions.
