Highway Deck Sales & Dispatch Lead

We are seeking a high-energy Highway Open Deck Sales & Dispatch Lead to manage our highway fleet end-to-end. This is a unique hunter-planner hybrid seat
: you’ll sell the load, price it, plan it, permit it, and dispatch it.

Freight Sales & Account Growth (~50%): Source, quote, and book open deck, oversize, and heavy haul freight. Prospect direct shippers across target industries (steel, machinery, precast, construction, forestry) and leverage our internal brokerage network for built-in volume.

Planning & Dispatch (~40%): Dispatch company drivers and owner-operators, matching freight to flat decks, step decks, double drops, lowbeds/RGNs, multi-axle, and trombone setups. Handle axle weight distribution, securement compliance, and OS/OW permitting across Canada and US corridors.

Cross-Border & Operations: Coordinate ACI/ACE e-manifests, PARS/PAPS customs clearances, and ensure full Hours of Service (HOS) compliance.

Driver & Partner Relations (~10%): Build strong trust with drivers and owner-operators, maximize their revenue, minimize downtime, and work collaboratively with internal teams.

Experience: 5+ years in flatbed and open deck freight (sales, dispatch, or hybrid) with oversize/heavy haul exposure. Minimum 3+ years directly in dispatch.

Equipment & Weight Distribution: Deep understanding of open deck trailer capabilities, axle groupings, deck heights, legal limits, and cargo securement (NSC Standard 10).

Permitting & Customs: Demonstrated experience securing OS/OW permits across BC, AB, and cross-border/US PNW lanes, along with cross-border documentation processes.

Commercial Drive: Strong rate negotiation skills, TMS proficiency, and a track record of keeping fleet capacity utilized profitably.

Existing shipper or carrier relationships in BC/AB open deck markets.

Class 1 license or prior driving experience.

Working knowledge of NSC compliance, HOS, and CVSE regulations.
