Finning Canada is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Surrey. Our Specialists are responsible for performing equipment maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment, both in the shop and in the field. - Perform scheduled oil sampling and change fluid filters as per contract agreement.
- Perform maintenance according to machine-specific checklists and conduct visual machine condition reports.
- Coordinate ordering of parts, maintain and stock service truck.
- Fluently communicate electronically and submit service reports.
- Make first customer contact for preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Operate responsibly in environmentally sensitive areas.
- Be flexible in managing work schedule, including days, hours, and overtime.
- Receive a $20.00 incentive per PM inspection for working irregular schedules.
- Journeyperson Ticket considered an asset.
- Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 years).
- Experience in electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems is beneficial.
- Strong customer communication skills.
- Position based in Surrey on a Monday to Friday shift.
- Out-of-town assignments required on an intermittent basis.
- Condition of employment may include obtaining customer site access (drug & alcohol, fitness testing) and wearing a respirator where applicable.
This is a unionized position. Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
