Summary
This posting is for a Permanent Full-Time caretaker at McLurg High School, to commence July 2, 2026. Position hours are eight (8) hours daily (1.0 FTE) Monday through Friday. As a Caretaker, you will focus on keeping the school clean and maintained to provide an optimal learning setting for our students.
Responsibilities- Janitorial work
- Groundskeeping
- Seasonal tasks
- Maintenance tasks
- Ensuring a clean and safe learning environment for students
- Grade 12 education and previous training/experience in caretaker is preferred
- Firemen's Certificate or WHMIS training considered an asset
- Self‑starter with independent work ability
- Ability to handle physical tasks involving lifting, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing
- Prioritization of multiple demands and effective time management
- Willingness to work in varied climates and conditions
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic, thrives in a team environment, genuinely appreciates working with children
