About the Role
We are looking for a CRANE Service Manager to join our service team in Surrey.
MissionWorking with some of the top mobile Crane brands in the world such as Manitowoc, Grove, National, Fassi and Kone Lift Trucks, the Crane Service Manager is responsible for exceptional Customer Satisfaction levels.
The Crane Service Manager oversees daily operations and management of the Crane Service Department, including all applicable KPI’s and metrics, as well as the health and safety of the employees. The candidate will ensure technicians are effectively utilized and are scheduled efficiently to meet customer needs.
Main Responsibilities- Overall management of activities and personnel within the Service Department to ensure safe, efficient and profitable operation in accordance with the budget.
- Primary liaison with the customer to diagnose the extent and type of service required, including follow‑up and dispatch of mechanics to clients for repair.
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are strictly adhered to, including toolbox meetings and inspections, following company policy.
- Recommend hiring, dismissals, or disciplining of service department staff.
- Communicate clearly the extent of service required to all service employees to ensure accurate and prompt responses.
- Ensure staff are customer focused, professional and adequately trained to perform their functions.
- Structure shop and field procedures to monitor the quality of work and drive customer satisfaction, including dispatch to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries.
- Ensure technicians complete work timely with minimum rework, striving for responsive delivery times.
- Ensure customer accounts are in good standing before service staff creates customer orders to billing to avoid delays.
- Organize and maintain the workshop, all tooling, and service trucks, to promote safe and efficient execution of tasks.
- Manage Crane customers within the region through networking, proactive customer service, identifying needs and presenting solutions for customers.
- Excellent written and oral English skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work within strict timelines
- Certified journey person technician
- Work primarily in a combination of office and shop environment with frequent walks in the shop
- May also require visits to customer locations
- The work requires moderate physical effort including bending, kneeling and walking
