Janitorial Services Caretaker Position

Surrey Schools is seeking a Caretaker for the Spare Board, focused on maintaining cleanliness within various school facilities. This role is perfect for those who thrive in dynamic, mobile work environments.

As a Caretaker, you will perform diverse janitorial duties, including vacuuming, polishing, and deep cleaning areas across multiple school sites. Regular duties also include emergency responses and securing assigned areas. Strong English skills and relevant custodial experience are vital for this on-call role, which may include day, afternoon, or graveyard shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of floors, washrooms, and classrooms

• Engage in minor maintenance and repair tasks

• Respond to custodial emergencies promptly

• Check and secure assigned areas after use

• Facilitate snow removal and prevent hazards

Building Service Worker certificate

• Applicable experience in custodial roles preferred

• Must possess a valid BC Driver’s License

• Excellent English communication skills needed
